ABOUT
Hi, I’m Rachel—the Genxtravelmom
A part-time Communication professor, remote worker, and full-time travel storyteller. I’ve been teaching digital storytelling since 2010, but in 2025, I stopped just teaching it and started fully living it.

Why I Travel
I take about 75 flight segments a year, usually with my family. My three adult kids are my favorite travel companions, and my husband (who was in the Navy and has been almost everywhere) still joins me—patiently—even when I’m dragging him back to places he’s already seen. We’re an active, foodie family with strong opinions, big laughs, and a shared love for finding the best local meal—and the cleanest hotel bathroom.
My Travel Roots
Travel runs deep in my family. My grandparents visited over 130 countries (including Antarctica when it was barely accessible), and my dad’s been to nearly 80. I took my first solo flight at age seven. My mom, once afraid to fly, became a fearless solo traveler and an early United million-miler. When she got sick, she shared her Gold status so I could fly to care for her. I later earned my own OneK—and I carry her travel spirit with me.
Why I Do This
I believe travel should add to your life — not derail it.
